Love the stylization. You did a great job creating simple planes of light, mixing it with texture, and the result successfully tricks the eye into seeing more detail than is actually there.

Thanks man! I really need to study rocks more because this is the extent to which I could push the detail from imagination and I wont always be able to get away with suggestion for a whole thing. Thanks for your thoughts

Ya, sometimes a painting does require more detail or more specific details, but don't be too afraid to leave stuff a little loose, it helps the audience participate in the image filling in all those missing details.
